black hoodie

My hoodie survived a full winter of daily wear. Here's the damage report

This hoodie was in near-daily rotation for an entire winter — mornings, evening walks, the odd gym session it definitely wasn't designed for. Here's what it actually looks like on the other side.

The fabric held its loft

400 GSM fleece doesn't compress and flatten the way thinner fabric does after repeated washing. Mine still has the same brushed, slightly raised interior it started with, not the pancake-flat feel a cheaper hoodie gets by month two.

The colour, honestly checked under daylight

I held it next to a hoodie I bought new specifically to compare. Genuinely close — not identical, there's the faintest softening at the elbows where the fabric flexes most, but nowhere close to the visible grey patches my old hoodies used to get by this point in the season.

Where it actually shows wear

The drawstring aglets are slightly frayed, which is normal wear on any hooded garment and has nothing to do with the colour-lock fabric. That's the one part I'd flag as needing occasional replacement over the years, not the fabric or the dye.

Would I trust it for another winter

Already planning to. The zip still runs smoothly, the cuffs haven't stretched out, and the colour is doing exactly what the label promised. That's a higher bar than most hoodies at this price actually clear.
